How To Draw Tumblr Style
It's decorative gourd season!
Trying to capture that feeling of walking through the forest and feeling the cold, crisp air on your face. What's your favorite season, and why is it autumn? 🍂
The kickstarter campaign is now closed! A big, big thank you to everyone who supported the kickstarter campaign in the last weeks, by backing the project, spreading the word, or even by just leaving a kind comment on my posts. Your support means the world to me!
For those who didn't back the project, the book will be released in the spring of 2022 and it will be available through a variety of web shops and bookstores. I will keep you posted on the progress, but for now, I just want you guys to know how grateful I am for all of your support.
❤️ THANK YOU!! ❤️

We have one final stretch goal: If we hit £400k, backers will get a free set of playing cards featuring art from the book! These were really popular last time and we got a lot of requests to offer them again, but we still need to raise £26k before we reach this goal! The kickstarter edition of this book will already include a special mailing carton, postcard set, bookmark, and sticker sheet, so if you haven't backed it yet, check out the campaign here: http://kck.st/3BLrPTD
Trying out different treatments of the same portrait! This is an exercise from my new artbook, which includes ideas and exercises to help you find out which stylistic approaches work best for you. We'll be streaming the process for this exercise on Proko TV later today - in 3 hours, to be exact!
We'll also be answering questions, so if you have any questions about stylization and art, post them here - Proko.com/loishlive. At the same link, you can join us for the stream in a few hours ✨ I'd love to see some of you there!
For anyone who missed out on a signed copy of my artbook, we just added 300 more to the kickstarter campaign! Grab your copy here: kck.st/3BLrPTD If you're already a backer, you can edit your pledge and swap your copy for a signed one!
This campaign ends in 6 days! Backing it is the only way to get the kickstarter edition of the book, which will come with a free special mailing carton, bookmark, postcard set, and sticker sheet (and playing card set if we reach the stretch goal!). It's also the only way to purchase exclusive add-ons, including a print, exercise booklet, and slipcase to hold all three books. So take a look if you haven't already ~ kck.st/3BLrPTD
Pulled out my sketchbook to draw some cats. Scratch that - monkeys. Or are they racoons? 🤔 That's what I love about these guys. They resemble other animals but are also completely unique. Hope to see them in real life one day!
We are in the last 9 days of the kickstarter campaign for my third book, The Style of Loish! The book is about my artistic style, but it's also about developing your own voice and celebrating your own vision, which is why I am launching this DTYIS challenge!
Feel free to draw this image in your own style and, when you post it, tag it with #TheStyleOfLoishDTIYS ~ I'll mainly be keeping up with this tag over on Instagram. There's no rules, it's just for fun and to celebrate all the different styles that exist out there! I can't wait to see what you come up with! Good luck
some spooky art 🎃 happy halloween everyone!
Some snippets from the video on my artbook Kickstarter page! Making content like this is quite a struggle for me since I am not a natural in front of the camera, but I'm proud of how some of these shots turned out.
To watch the full video, and back this Kickstarter (only 13 days left!), check out the campaign here: http://kck.st/3BLrPTD
Can't believe we're already halfway through the kickstarter campaign 😱 Time goes by so fast! We reached the latest stretch goal today, which means 16 extra pages of learning content will go into this book!
Thanks everyone who backed the project in recent days to help us reach that goal 💜 and if you haven't backed it yet, be sure to check it out ~ there's only two more weeks to get this book along with some of the exclusive add-ons! Find it here: kck.st/3BLrPTD
Now that my new artbook has been on kickstarter for 10 days, I wanted to talk a bit more about what's in it. This book is about how I developed my style, and in order to write it, I broke my style down into four main elements. In each chapter, I talk about how these elements motivate me and which techniques I use to achieve them. In order to tackle this in depth, I want each chapter to elaborate on my techniques, give a case study on a specific artwork, and contain exercises that artists can do to cultivate their own ability in that area of their own art. I want it to be an informative workbook for artists.
Because of that, the content got pretty dense and ended up being a lot of pages compared to my previous books! Which is why we decided to add 16 extra pages as a stretch goal. Hitting this stretch goal will give the book more breathing room for this dense learning content. We're not there yet, and still have about £20k left to go before we hit it. If you haven't backed this book yet, please consider doing so! I'd love for these pages to make it into the book. You can back it here: kck.st/3BLrPTD
Thanks for reading and thanks to everyone who backed this project so far! 💜
